Plant life
The forest in Bjurkärr is very old and unspoilt, with a virgin forest feel. It is famous for its incredible species diversity, which includes lichens, fungi and insects that live on Wood.
The local broad-leaved deciduous forests are home to many rare mosses, lichens and fungi. The islands are covered in trees, with plenty of variety.
Ancient trees set their mark on many shorelines. There are many, many endangered species in this region. You can see Bacidia rosella, Hericium coralloides, Hericium erinaceus (lion’s mane) and Dichelyma capillaceum here, for example.
