Plant life
The predominate forest environments in Skuleskogen are the towering spruce forests by brooks in ravines and in long valleys and the sparse, short pine forests on the extensive rocky grounds.
Several of the area’s marshes and tarns are located in the central sections of the national park. Skuleskogen is an exciting place for botanists. In the park you will find both alpine plants extant since the period after the Ice Age, and southern woodland plants that are relics of a warm period about 5,000 years ago.
